Harper is doing amazing! This week she started smiling, her smile lights up her whole face. When she smiles at you, you can't help but smile yourself! Its the best feeling in the world!!!

6 Weeks
Parenting is so much harder than I ever thought it would be. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my daughter and I love my new job as mommy. But this is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. No one tells you about how you will constantly second guess yourself, how incompetent you will feel when you have done everything to comfort her and she still cries, or how exhausted you will feel all the time and all those people who told you to sleep now when you were pregnant you want to beat with a large stick! That being said we survived the first 6 weeks!!! Although the midnight feedings are still hard and we are not on a schedule (besides hers!) I wouldn't trade my time home with her for anything!

ReplyDeleteHey Laura! I love your blog and can totally relate! My mom and I went through my baby pictures a few weeks ago and came across some pictures of you and I as babies! So funny :-) We're 5 months in over here... And it's still hard... But it's a little easier with sleep :-) keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get easier, but it changes. I still second guess myself with all 3 of the girls. I'm more confident as I see the fruits of our labor, but I still have times when I wonder if I should have done it differently. This will always be the case, I'm finding. Everyday is a blessing and a challenge. New milestones and joys are discovered, as well as new "situations." I know you have been told a million times how fast it goes and enjoy it while it is here....that being said its perfectly okay to sometimes wish the time away. Especially at 4am after having been up for three other feedings since laying down at 11p. I do promise "it won't be like this for long"
